PKMetal I'm reminded of Einherjer at times (a high compliment), but this band has its own sound. If this EP is any indication, a full album will be a real beast. Looking forward to it! Favorite track: Old and Fateful Foe.

BegravementEzra If you like dark, heavy folk metal without all the synthy frills of bands like Korpiklaani, then Skalds of the Northland is for you. Though unquestionably melodic and well-produced, it maintains a primitive atmosphere that suits the music well. I highly recommend it. Favorite track: Prophecy.

BLOODSHED WALHALLA IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE GREATEST BATHORY WORSHIP IN EXISTENCE. Absolutely NO ONE writes masterpieces like this, not since Quorthon. Album after album, everything Drakhen has done is at LEAST near perfection, if not completely and totally flawless. Second Chapter is probably his greatest masterwork, tough to say though, with Thor and The Battle Will Never End being perfect contenders for the magnum opus. Anyway, this beyond majestic, and just unbelievably unbelievable Chandler Brown

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74
